Grant Program For Breast Cancer Research!

Here is a government grant program that is open to ALL apply! This means that this grant program has an unrestricted eligibility requirement - however it is subject to any clarification in the field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility"

This grant program was started to promote new ideas that are still in the early stages of development and have the potential to yield highly impactful data and new avenues of investigation. This grant awards program supports conceptually innovative, high-risk/high-reward research that could ultimately lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate the eradication of breast cancer.

Research projects should include a well-formulated, testable hypothesis based on strong scientific rationale. The grant program seeks applications from all areas of basic, translational, clinical, behavioral, and epidemiological research. Innovation and Impact are the most important aspects of this grant program. Here is a more specific explanation:

  • Innovation - Research deemed innovative may introduce a new paradigm, challenge current paradigms, look at existing problems from new perspectives, or exhibit other uniquely creative qualities.

  • Impact - Research that has high potential impact may significantly accelerate the eradication of breast cancer. It is the responsibility of the applicant to clearly and explicitly articulate the project’s innovation and its potential impact on breast cancer.

The sponsors of this grant award encourages applications that include meaningful and productive collaborations between two primary entities but please note that each of the co-entities will have different submission requirements. However, both should contribute to the preparation of a single application. The collaborative partners may have expertise in similar or disparate scientific disciplines but are expected to bring different strengths to the application. New collaborations are encouraged, but not required. The program is designed to support collaborations on completely new research ideas; therefore, merely continuing an existing or previous collaborative research project between the two partners is not considered innovative and does not meet the intent of this grant program.

It is the responsibility of the partners to describe how their combined expertise in the collaboration will better address the research question and explain why the work should be done together rather than through separate efforts.

Over 50 grants will be awarded from this grant program and the total amount of funding dollars for this grant program is over $40 Million Dollars!

There is no "cost-sharing" or "matching requirement" required which means that you will not have had to have secured funding BEFORE you can apply for this grant program.

The deadline to apply for this grant program is April 8, 2009!

If you have difficulty accessing the full announcement via their website then you can contact them via phone or you can also send them an email!

The Switch To Digital TV!

I just got finished posting on my Getting To Know You Blog about the switch to digital tv and me not being ready for it!

I have now come to find out that the deadline date has been extended to June 12 which is a BIG relief to me!

Since grant research and grant consulting is what I do I decided to go ahead and fill out my application online for the 2 $40 off coupons that the government is allowing each household!

I went to their website and filled out an application online. I already know from listening to the news that the funding has run out for the coupons but those who still sign up between now and March are still eligible to apply for the coupons.

I have a copy of their application and will give a copy to those who make a $5 donation however it should be noted that even though the date has been extended to June, the application itself still has the February 17, due date on it. However you will be glad to know that the application also includes links to their website as well!

Even though this doesn't officially qualify as a government grant (heck - maybe it does!) I do believe that all things are related....

This is after all a program providing financial relief to those in need and actually this is quite different because it seems that all households regardless of income are eligible to apply for this coupons - which is probably one of the best examples of a government grant program - right?

IRS data show that each year about 131 million individuals file tax returns and pay an average of $7,633 to the IRS. The U.S. Office of Management and Budget and recent independent studies show that the government gives out over $1.5 Trillion a year to individuals through its free money programs. One and one half trillion dollars in government money programs, divided by 131 million taxpayers, means that the average taxpayer is getting $11,450 a year in cash back from the government in free money programs.

Are you getting yours?

How About A Grant Program For Biking Organizations?

There is a biking-related foundation that has awarded four grants so far this year in the amount of $10,000. Applicants can request up to $10,000. Requests for more than $10,000 will generally be viewed unfavorably unless the applicant has an extremely compelling case that the proposal is of unique and/or national importance. These grant awards have gone to organizations that are supporting their communities through bicycling, establishing innovative bike programs for young riders, and setting—and raising—the bicycle-advocacy bar. Grants are awarded for best practices in bicycle advocacy, safety, and youth programming. Bicycle advocacy organizations must have a mission and activities directly relating to bicycling. They typically work to improve bicycling conditions and affect positive change on a local, regional, state, or national level. Most are incorporated 501c3 nonprofits.

Recipients of these grants include an organization that has an incentive program that promotes healthier, happier children, and a cleaner environment, by encouraging kids to ride their bikes and walk to school. Their program began in 2004 at an elementary school and has since gone on now to include other elementary schools as well.

This grant program strives to put more people on bicycles more often by funding important and influential projects that leverage federal funding and build momentum for bicycling in communities across the U.S. These projects include bike paths, lanes, and routes, as well as bike parks, mountain bike trails, BMX facilities, and large-scale bicycle advocacy initiatives.

Since 1999, this organization has awarded 180 grants to municipalities and grassroots groups in 45 states and the District of Columbia, investing nearly $1.5 million in community bicycling projects and leveraging close to $500 million in federal, state, and private funding.

Who is eligible to apply? - The organization welcomes grant applications from organizations and agencies within the United States that are committed to putting more people on bicycles more often. Nonprofit trails groups and public agencies or departments at the local, regional, and national levels may apply for facility grants. The organization encourages municipalities to partner with bicycle advocacy groups when applying for our funding in order to insure that bicyclists are involved in and supportive of the project. The organization does not fund individuals.

Fundable projects include paved bike paths and rail-trails as well as mountain bike trails, bike parks, BMX facilities, and large-scale bicycle advocacy initiatives.

The organization does not accept applications for bicycle recycling, repair, or earn-a-bike programs, or for bicycle rodeos.

Grant applications will be accepted from nonprofit organizations whose missions are bicycle and/or trail specific. Public agencies and departments at the national, state, regional, and local levels, are encouraged to align with a local bicycle advocacy group that will help develop and advance the project or program. (Please note that grants are rarely awarded to organizations and communities that have received their grantfunding within the past three years.)

If your organization is new, and you have not yet acquired your nonprofit status, you may submit an application with the assistance of another nonprofit that has agreed to serve as your fiscal agent. You will need to provide a letter from the fiscal sponsor outlining their role in the project.

This organization does not fund individuals.

It is also important to note that the organization has moved to paperless applications. Applications are now accepted via e-mail only.

The completed application consists of three main parts. Please submit the following material in ONE e-mail, with your project title in the subject line. Your e-mail message should not exceed 10 MB.

  1. Cover Letter: The letter should introduce your organization and proposal. It should appear as the body of the e-mail.

  2. The application is available as a downloadable file: This Microsoft Word file includes the Administrative Information Form and the Grant Application Narrative.

  3. Attachments: These include your financials as well as support letters from the bike industry*, a list of your board members, a project map or plan, and media articles.

*Support letters from the local bicycle industry are KEY to your proposal. Letters from this organization's members—retailers and suppliers—will strengthen your application. Please ask your supporters to address their letters to the Grant Committee, as form letters will not be considered. You can visit the organization's website to view a list of their members.

Additional information is not encouraged unless it is absolutely essential to the organization's understanding of your project. They will contact you should they need further information on which to base a decision.

The organization no longer accepts mailed or faxed applications. All application materials must be submitted together, in the same e-mail message—no exceptions. Incomplete or excessively long applications will not be considered.

Completed applications can be sent via email

Grant Application Schedule runs on a quarterly cycle up to February 2010. Applications must be e-mailed by the due date in order to be considered for the ensuing decision date.

Depending on the number of applications received, the organization currently awards funding to about 15–20% of completed applications.

Generally, grantees can expect to receive funding within three weeks of the grant award.

For more information about this grant program you can read the organization's guidelines on their website, contact them via email or you can contact them by phone.

Grant Program To Help Pay For Home Repairs!

If you think that there are no grant programs out there that can help you financially with home repairs, then please read on. Here is a city-wide grant program that is encouraging its residents to apply for grant funding for needed home repairs.

One city is seeking federal housing money to help local homeowners pay for needed home repairs again.

City officials plan to apply for this grant money through the Community Development Authority. So far the city has received over $200,000 for low-income homeowners to repair their homes. There is also a growing concern for those residents who are seniors who have trouble paying for much needed repairs on their homes but don't have the money to pay for it.

The program starts with community meetings where residents can get applications and get their questions answered. They must then return completed applications to the city to demonstrate need. Applications will also be available at the mayor's office.

The application deadline is mid-summer and cities receiving grants will be notified in November.

Work on individual homes would not be done until 2009.

In the past, the grant money was used for new roofs, new windows, siding and outside paint. There is more emphasis on repairs that need to be done on the outside of the home.
(I am assuming that because this is a city-run grant program, there is more emphasis on how the outside of the house looks in relation to the overall look of the city. A better-looking city, a better-looking revenue stream)

Here Is A Grant Program To Help A Business GET A Grant!

Since I get a good deal of information about new grant programs emailed to me on a regular basis, here is an announcement of a new grant program that has been started to help businesses GET a grant:

This grant program is being sponsored by a state-funded organization

The purpose of this new grant program is to help small businesses to improve their chances of winning federal dollars for research and development.

Up to $4,000 will be awarded to qualified businesses that need assistance apply for a grant programs being offered by the federal government. In other words, this grant program is providing grant money to businesses to help them better apply for federal grants!

The federal grant program provides grants that are designed to stimulate innovation and development in high technology industries.

The organization began accepting applications March 2008 for the $100,000 allocated for the training program, and will accept submissions until June 30th, 2008 or funds are depleted.

Acceptable grant award expenditures include:

  • consultant services

  • printing supplies

  • conference and workshop registration fees relating to applying for the federal grant program

  • database search fees and legal fees for provisional patent preparation costs

Even though states like to boast about how they have some of the most innovative businesses in the nation, too often those businesses are held back by a lack of financial resources and industry connections.

Here is a quoted excerpt from one of the members of the organization:

"The federal government has billions of dollars in grant money set aside each year that, if secured, could advance the mission of these businesses and, in turn, the economy of our state.

Last year, the federal government awarded over $2 billion in research dollars to small businesses across the nation, but only a small fraction of those funds came to one state in particular.

There seems to be an interest in this specific grant program because they are trying to increase the number of businesses in their own state that apply for these federal grants. According to records this one state only receives about 1/10th of the grant monies that some other states have been awarded in comparison to their own state. By starting this new grant program, the organizations hopes to increase those numbers and increase the amount of grant money that has been awarded to businesses in the state.

More information and applications are available at the organization's website

Piano Competition!

While I do a LOT of grant research concerning grant programs there are other ways of being able to get money besides (or I should say in additon to) grants.

One of those ways is with contests and competitions and the like!

Now comes word of a piano competition being held in one state.

The grand prize of this piano competion is a BRAND NEW PIANO! And other prizes will be given away as well!

One of the best things about this particular competion is that there is NO entry fee!

The Deadline to enter is March 17th, 2008!

There will be different competition levels for students (both high school and college level) and for those of "all ages".

To download their competition form which includes the rules and regulations of the competion, you can go to the competition's website and download their form in .pdf format.

This is just one (good) example of the different and varied kinds of competitions and contests that are out there that people can enter - especially when there is no entrance fee!

I even read recently about one man who was trying to sell his house and he couldn't get any buyers for it. So what he decided to do was hold an essay contest with the property being put up for sale as the grand prize. Unfortunately there is a $200 entry fee to enter this essay contest. But for people looking for a house that free - sort of speak - then this should be something that they should look into.

Another Government Grant Program That Is Open To All! - Providing Safer Computer Safety

Here is one of the most latest grant programs being offered by the government.

This grant program is open to all which means that any one (or business) can apply.

People depend on computers and communication, ranging from the networks for electronic mail, to systems that monitor the nation's critical infrastructure, to embedded RFID devices for tracking in transportation systems. These systems are expected to work and work as intended without placing people at needless risks. Unfortunately, vulnerabilities still exist that allow attackers to corrupt or commandeer systems, including those that provide support for critical societal infrastructure. Moreover, many systems are vulnerable to actions that can inhibit operation, corrupt valuable data or expose private information. In fact, the news is replete with stories of vulnerabilities that were exploited for ill. Future advances in computing promise substantial benefits for society and individuals; yet, unless trust in computing and communications can be assured, these benefits are at risk. This grant program promotes a vision of a society where trust enables technologies to support individual and societal needs without violating confidences and exacerbating public risks. It is a vision of cyber space that is supportive of our basic principles of fairness and safe information access. The goal of this grant program is to develop new insights and fundamental scientific principles that lead to software and hardware technologies on which people can justifiably rely. To achieve the vision and simultaneously improve the nation's cybersecurity posture, this grant program will support a portfolio of projects that:

  • Contribute to the cybersecurity knowledge base, strengthen the foundations of cyber trust, and advance cybersecurity technologies

  • Define cyber trust broadly to include security, privacy, dependability, reliability, and usability

  • Address trustworthiness at all levels of system design, implementation, and use

  • Begin to integrate the technology produced by the research community, for example through novel security architectures

  • Consider social, economic, organizational and legal factors influencing cybersecurity

  • Validate theory through analysis, formal verification, experimentation and rigorous measurement

  • Explore innovative new concepts anticipating advances in technology and society

  • encourage international collaborations

  • educate and train a diverse workforce in cybersecurity and software technologies.

Proposals funded will cover a broad range of disciplines contributing to this grant program's vision.

Four types of projects will be supported, as defined below.

Exploratory Research projects typically explore new and untested ideas, have budgets of up to $200,000 total, and have durations of up to 2 years

Single Investigator and Small Group projects typically involve 1-2 PIs and their students, have budgets of up to $500,000 total, and have durations of up to 3 years

Medium projects demonstrate an active collaboration that brings together 2 or more PIs with complementary expertise to explore a common research problem, have budgets of up to $1,500,000 total, and have durations of up to 3 years

Large projects must focus on achieving a common goal or set of goals, articulate an effective collaboration and management plan, have budgets of up to $3,000,000 total, and have durations of up to 3 years.

A link to the full announcement of this grant program can be found on the government's website.

Latest Government Grant Program For National Non-Profit Organizations- $5 Million Dollars!

* Please note that Monday is President's Day and most government offices will be closed!

For more than a decade organizations have worked to mobilize new generations of engaged citizens. In 2008, more than 3.8 million individuals of all ages and backgrounds will work through Corporation-supported programs to help thousands of national and community nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, schools, and local agencies to meet local needs in education, the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other critical areas. The Corporation anticipates awarding one cooperative agreement for approximately $5,000,000 to a national organization to develop and execute a plan to support and build the capacity of local Volunteer Connector Organizations. These organizations connect individuals with volunteer opportunities and support organizations and professional volunteer coordinators in effectively using those volunteers to create meaningful change in local communities. Activities that will be funded through this competition include, among other activities, those previously supported through a partnership grant. As part of the Corporation’s fiscal year 2008 budget Congress allocated funds under Subtitle H of Title 1 of the NCSA to support such activities undertaken by an organization through a competitively awarded grant. The Corporation is looking forward to establishing a strong partnership with an organization committed to advancing the volunteer sector through dynamic leadership and high-quality programming. Additional grant competitions to support youth programming and better linking of schools to community resources will be announced later in FY 2008.

The successful applicant will, in conjunction with the Corporation, provide financial resources, training, and other assistance to local affiliates/organizations that match individuals with appropriate service opportunities. The applicant will train professional volunteer managers and other nonprofits to deepen the engagement and increase the effectiveness of their volunteers. The Corporation anticipates that the successful applicant will propose a plan, subject to the Corporation’s approval, that allows up to approximately 50 percent of funds provided under this agreement to be distributed on an annual basis to such local organizations through a subgrant process. The Corporation expects to work in close collaboration with the successful applicant to:

  • Provide grants to local Volunteer Connector Organizations for operating support, capacity building, and special projects

  • Deliver training and technical assistance to Volunteer Connector and other local organizations (including other Corporation grantees) in such areas as volunteer management, volunteer retention, and local partnership development with an emphasis on distance learning and other cost-effective methods for delivering training and technical assistance

  • Collaborate with other organizations in the sector to streamline and consolidate on-line resources related to volunteer management and national service

  • Develop outreach strategies and conduct a national campaign to get more Americans to volunteer. Strategies should complement the Corporation’s Strategic Plan in areas such as encouraging Baby Boomers to serve, engaging more at-risk youth and students in service, and mentoring more at-risk youth

  • Convene and co-design a national conference on volunteerism and service and other national meetings to provide training, inspiration, and networking opportunities for individuals and organizations engaged in community service and volunteerism

  • Provide sector-wide leadership for development and marketing of web-based technologies that encourage creative, efficient electronic means to match volunteers with opportunities and organize service projects

  • Build private sector support for volunteering, including the development and promotion of corporate employee volunteer programs and convening and supporting an advisory council of for-profit corporations committed to advancing volunteerism and effecting change in the communities across the nation.

Applicants should propose a three-year plan that is compatible with the Corporation’s strategic interests in the area of generating and managing volunteers.

Current Deadline Date(s) - Please submit an e-mail stating your intent to apply via email by February 20, 2008 by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on March 10, 2008.

Applications submitted by hard copy or fax will not be accepted.

A $15 MILLION Dollar Government Grant Program Open To The Public!

This means that ANY one (or any organization) can apply for this grant!

However be forewarned that the deadline to apply for this grant is

February 18, 2008!

This government grant program invites investigators who possess the theoretical, methodological, measurement, and managerial skills, as well as institutional resources, to undertake a large-scale survey data collection project to submit proposals to conduct a general survey and an international survey. This survey is a personal interview survey that collects data on a wide range of topics: behavioral items such as group membership and voting; personal psychological evaluations, including measures of happiness, misanthropy, and life satisfaction; attitudinal questions on such public issues as abortion, crime and punishment, race relations, gender roles, and spending priorities; demographic characteristics of respondents and their parents. The basic survey design is a repeated cross-sectional survey of a nationally representative sample of non-institutionalized adults who speak either English or Spanish. The survey consists of a 90-minute in-person interview, with forty-five minutes devoted to the core items, 15 minutes to questions selected as part of the international survey program, and 30 minutes allocated to topical modules. The “core” consists of questions that regularly appear on the general survey, allowing long-term comparisons. The topical modules are used to introduce new topics not previously investigated by the general survey and to cover existing topics in greater detail. The topical modules are currently supported by external funding secured by the principal investigator (PI).

Basically what this means is that if you are an individual or organization (you can be either a for-profit or non-profit) then you are eligible to apply for this grant program which basically consists of gathering some survey information. If you are an individual or organization that has some experience with taking surveys then why not benefit by being able to get a grant for doing the kind(s) of surveys that you would be doing on a regular basis anyway?

This government grant program may make one award for the next four-year funding cycle which is FY 2009-2012, to support the 2010 and 2012 general survey program and the U.S. component of the international survey program. It is anticipated that the government agency in charge of this grant award will award in the range of $10 million and at most $15 million, over four years (approximately $2.5 million, but not more than $3.75 million per year) to support data collection and dissemination activities of the survey process.

The expected starting date is November 2008!

The following activities are eligible for award funding

  • Two waves, 2010 and 2012, of data collection for the general survey, including the United State international surveys.

  • Participation in the international survey.

  • Continued development and refinement of the supported module on public knowledge and attitudes concerning science and technology.

  • Survey instrument and module development and experimentation for both the general and international surveys based on scientific expertise in relevant social sciences.

  • Survey design, innovations, and continual enhancement (based on assessment and analysis) of both the cross-sectional survey and panel designs.

  • Post data collection editing, processing, and generation of constructed variables, datafiles and codebooks.

  • Data dissemination through a cutting-edge web-based data archive.

  • Provision of user assistance.

  • Support for a Board of Overseers.

Here Is A START-UP Grant Being Offered By The Government!

Individuals are invited to apply for this "Start-Up" Grants program. This program is designed to encourage innovations in the digital humanities. By awarding relatively low-dollar grants during the planning stages, the goal is to identify projects that are particularly innovative and have the potential to make a positive impact on the humanities. In an effort to foster new collaborations and advance the role of cultural repositories in online teaching, learning, and research, this program is being co-sponsored by more than one agency. This grant program encourage library and museum officials as well as scholars, scientists, educational institutions, and other non-profit organizations to apply for these grants and to collaborate when appropriate. Proposals should be for the planning or initial stages of digital initiatives in any area of the humanities. To apply for this start up grant program your proposal / application may involve:

  • research that brings new approaches or documents best practices in the study of the digital humanities

  • planning and prototyping new digital tools for preserving, analyzing, and making accessible digital resources, including libraries' and museums' digital assets

  • scholarship that examines the philosophical implications and impact of the use of emerging technologies

  • innovative uses of technology for public programming and education utilizing both traditional and/or new media

  • new digital modes of publication facilitating the dissemination of humanities scholarship in advanced academic as well as informal or formal educational settings at all academic levels.

Innovation is a hallmark of this grant category. All applicants must propose an innovative approach, method, tool, or idea that has not been used before in the humanities. These grants are modeled, in part, on the "high risk/high reward" paradigm often used by funding agencies in the sciences. This grant program is requesting proposals for projects that take some risks in the pursuit of innovation and excellence. Grants awarded should result in plans, prototypes, or proofs of concept for long-term digital humanities projects prior to implementation.

Two levels of awards will be made in this program. Level I awards are small grants designed to fund brainstorming sessions, workshops, early alpha-level prototypes, and initial planning.

Level II awards are larger grants that can be used for more fully-formed projects that are ready to start the first stage of implementation or the creation of working prototypes. Applicants must state in their narrative which funding level they seek. The Endowment will be setting aside funds for each of the two levels and more awards will be made in the Level I category. Applicants should carefully choose the funding level appropriate to the needs of the proposed project.

Eligible Applicants: Individuals

The deadline to apply: April 2, 2008

Maximum Grant Award: $50,000

If you would like to receive notifications of changes for this grant opportunity you can send your request via email. The only thing you need to provide for this service is your email address. No other information is requested.

If you have questions about the program you can contact the Staff by email. Because the staff is dispersed across the agency, for a fast response please contact the program first by e-mail. Applicants wishing to speak to a staff member by telephone should provide in the e-mail a telephone number and a preferred time to call.

There Are No Grant Programs For For-Profit Daycares - This Is Another Myth!

This myth probably got started because people were having such a hard time finding any kind of grant programs for a for-profit daycare business.

Just because these kinds of grant programs seem hard to find - that doesn't mean that they aren't out there - they are just hard to find. And sometimes they are not that hard to find IF you know where to look at!

While researching for some grant programs for a for-profit daycare I came upon one state grant program for daycares. It provides grant money for:

  • • New programs that have been open and licensed one year or less

  • Expanded programs that are increasing or expanding the number of children that they are able to care for, according to the state's regulations.

A child care center has been providing care for children 2 years and older. They
have now decided to care for children starting at 6 weeks, therefore increasing the number of infants & toddlers they are able to care for.

  • Enhanced programs that are not increasing the number of children they serve, but are asking for funds to enhance/improve the quality of childcare that they are
    currently providing.

The reason why this grant program was started in the first place was to provide more quality daycare in the state.

However while trying to find out more about this daycare grant program I didn't see any mention of whether or not for-profit daycares were eligible to apply. So I emailed the director of the grant program and asked them whether or not for profit daycares could apply for this grant program. A few days later I got an email from the director saying that indeed for-profit daycares could apply as long as they met the eligibility requirements which included:

  • Serve low-income families and accept purchase of Care

  • Be open Monday through Friday until 5:30 p.m. (at a minimum)

While there is no specified minimum or maximum grant award one of the examples cited was a $2,000 grant request for new supplies.

Again this is a statewide grant program that is open for for-profit daycares to apply for as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.

The next deadline to apply for this grant program is:

January 2008!

12/31/07 Update:

Since I wasn't sure whether or not this organization's grant program was open for for profit daycares to apply for, I sent them an email:

I have looked over your on-line materials but I can not find any information relating to whether or not your program is open to for-profit daycare facilities to apply.

Here is an excerpt from the email that they sent back to me:

Rose, Yes, our program is open to for profit child care facilities as long as they meet the criteria.

North Carolina Has A Grant Program for Businesses

What is very interesting about this particular grant program is that one of the recipients got a grant to START A BLOG NETWORK!.

This just re-affirms my position of their being grant programs for for-profit businesses!

The objective of this particular grant program is to help spur the growth of companies in North Carolina. It began in 2006 and has already received over 200 grant applications! It's purpose is to help companies who need funding to develope their product idea and who have not been able to secure other funding. The maximum grant award is $50,000 per recipient. The grants are targeted for companies in information technology, medical devices and material sciences. All companies receiving grants are required to incorporate, and the funds must be used for business related expenses.

The next deadline for grant applicants is Fall 2007!

The initial preposal applications must be submitted online by September 2007! Approximately 12 - 15 companies will be chosen to take part in the full application process.

Deadline - June 26, 2007

If you're located in the New Hampshire area and your home was damaged by the Patriot's Day storm then you have until June 26th to call the FEMA Hotline. The regular FEMA office in that area has already been closed down but you still have until June 26th to reach them through their hotline number.

Over 2 million dollars has been allocated to the area for direct assistance which includes grants. Over 1500 people have already applied for the grant and the average grant award has been $2700 and on the average the money is received within 4 days!

Public assistance grants are also being made available.
